In these challenging times when ecclesias in many places are finding it difficult to meet together it is encouraging to see the gospel message is still going out. Last weekend the Kalilangan Ecclesia in the Philippines baptised four new sisters – Jean, Desiree, Jessa and Catherine.
“The usual fellowship we have is not possible in the current climate. Many things around us have changed, but our need for God’s word remains the same.”
We currently have 36 brothers and sisters throughout Malaysia. Most of these members have come as a direct result of the preaching effort of Brother Kahfook and Sister Tina Tham and their family, over a period of 20 years. With the COVID-19 restrictions we are currently continuing with our preaching effort, using a Bible seminar…
Tonga In January this year the Mudge family from New Zealand spent time with our brethren in the Kingdom of Tonga. This was their first time in the mission fields. On arrival they were greeted by brother Dickie, himself young in Christ, who has been performing most of the teaching and nurturing work on his…
There have only been 24 cases of Covid19 and there have been no new cases for sometime.
Lockdown restrictions have eased somewhat but it is still difficult for the brothers and sisters to meet together.
One group is staying at a private property outside Dili and have been growing fruit and vegetables to support themselves while work is hard to find. This has provided many opportunities for fellowship and Bible study
The brothers and sisters in the Mayantok Ecclesia in the central Philippines mostly work as construction labourers in other parts of the country.
Sadly many of them are unable to work at the present time and one brother had to walk over 100km to get home.
They have been using their time at home to spend time reading and sharing with others in the village.
Government COVID19 lockdowns has meant no work or food for millions of day labourers, and small businesses.
While Moslems have rallied and are supporting their own, there is little help for Christians. Already food parcels have been made up and distributed to Christadelphians, their extended families and interested friends in seven centres.
No preaching weekends are possible … just family meetings. There is a focus on daily Bible readings and generally catching up is by phone or WhatsApp communication. Regular Bible classes from Australia continue.
Despite this: on 4th May in the city of Hasilpur seven people were baptised.
Our brothers and sisters in Thailand and Myanmar have certainly been impacted, enduring the same fears and uncertainty and the same drastic, government antiviral measures as many others on this febrile planet of ours.
In Chiang Mai, the Bible Education Centre was vacated in the middle of March as fieldworkers made a premature return to Australia.
COVID19 has raised challenges for our Brethren and Sisters.

The very first thing to acknowledge is the wonderful support from many ecclesias in NSW and the Sydney CYC for their very generous financial donations for the work in the Philippines. The highlights during this past year were two Family Fraternals (just like Bible Schools), one held in Mindanao (Northern Philippines) and the other in…
The 2019 Singapore Annual Study Weekend was held over the Easter holiday (19-21 April). In addition to Bro David & Sis Taneke, we also welcomed a number of visiting Bre & Sis…
The Bible Education Centre (BEC) in Chiang Mai is a central feature of our activities in Thailand. The BEC is the home, teaching and resource centre and is the base for fieldworkers who operate the centre year-round. The BEC is conveniently located near the centre of Chiang Mai and has most of life’s accessories, including…
A highlight of this last year was the first study weekend in the Japanese language, held in Nagoya in November 2018. Studies were led by Brethren Peter Evans (Tokyo), Jonathan Prins (Fukuoka) and Andrew Culver (Simi Hills). The ACBM, per medium of Skype, continues to provide exhortations for Memorial Meetings each Sunday, a Bible Class on Thursday evenings and a First Principles class on Sunday evenings. The Bible class is run by a group of Chinese brethren in Australia and links up with many throughout China. It provides a wonderful opportunity for…
PNG is called ‘the land of the unexpected’. Irregular transport, an ineffective communication system, local political pressures and issues of personal safety, have made visits to Bougainville impossible over the last 12 months. The brethren have asked that the ACBM keep out of Bougainville until after the forthcoming referendum for national independence in October 2019.…
