The Truth of the Gospel is converting some sincere hearts near Sarenga in rural West Bengal,(India) 200 Km west of Kolkata. Bro. Tuphan Biswas and his wife Sis. Pueli have been teaching about a dozen people over the last 2 years. Most of them attended the Kolkata Bible School in October 2011 where they greatly enjoyed the Bible studies. During their visit to West Bengal in Jan – Feb 2012 Bro. Milton & Sis Claudia Richardson spent a week giving seminars, Bible talks and discussion at Sarenga in a tent set up in front of Bro. Tuphan’s house.
Two weeks later another trip was made together with six members from Kolkata for more Bible studies and the baptismal interviews of three people. On the Sunday morning at the lakeside about 3 Km from Bro Tuphan’s village was a lovely setting for the baptisms of Brothers Laxman, Naba and Beran.
All three of our new brethren have a Hindu background and two of them have had very difficult personal challenges to overcome in accepting the real truth of the Bible. They are now showing their commitment by teaching and discussing the meaning of the Bible with their wives and children. There are 5 preparing for baptism and about 15 other active contacts.
