Study Leaders Workshop – December 2025

A study leaders’ workshop for young Filipino brothers is planned for 20 to 23 December 2025, God willing. This workshop is designed to assist young brothers to develop the appropriate insights, attitudes, knowledge and skills to be an effective leader in our Christadelphian community. It will be held at Bugallon Ecclesial Hall in central Luzon, the main Philippines northern island.
The workshop objective is to develop an understanding of Biblical leadership and to explore key fundamentals in Bible study. The workshop, as planned, will include tutorials from workshop leaders, interactive group discussions and activities, case study work, and presentations from workshop participants.
About 30 young brothers from ecclesias scattered throughout the Philippines will attend. The workshop will be conducted by Bro David Baird (Cabramatta Ecclesia) and Bro Tim Carroll (Punchbowl Ecclesia). After the workshop, the young brothers will attend the Philippine Youth Conference.
Typhoons – November 2025

The Philippines is impacted by about 20 or more typhoons each year. Two destructive typhoons struck in the first two weeks of November 2025.
Firstly, on 5 November, Typhoon Tino (Kalmaegi) passed through central Philippines, known as the Visayas. There are three ecclesias in the Visayas region. Thankfully all the brothers and sisters were safe. However, one family’s house was destroyed.
Then, on 9 November, Super Typhoon Uwan (Fong-Wong) struck Luzon (northern Philippines) with winds up to 230 km/h, causing massive destruction, widespread flooding, storm surges, power outages, collapsed homes, evacuations of more than a million people, blocked roads, submerged villages, and severe damage to agriculture. There are 14 ecclesias in Luzon, some of which were near the path of the typhoon. Thankfully again all brothers and sisters were safe, though many had a sleepless night as the destructive wind and rain of the typhoon passed through.
A number of our brothers and sisters’ houses were damaged and their crops destroyed. The ACBM Philippines Area Team have provided funds to help the impacted brothers and sisters with their short-term needs and to repair their damaged houses. Overall, we can be thankful to our Heavenly Father for preserving our brothers and sisters during these terrible storms.
