Philippines News Update

Philippines5-1 ‌
COVID19 has raised challenges for our Brethren and Sisters.
  • Tighter restrictions are in place than in Aus/NZ making it hard for Ecclesia to gain encouragement by meeting.
  • Many either lack the technology or good internet connection which has allowed Aus/NZ Ecclesias to continue to communicate under restrictions
  • Many members haven't been able to work and therefore had no pay to support their families.  However, in some ecclesial areas, some restrictions have been lifted (from the beginning of May) allowing some to return to work.
Sunday School prizegivings would normally held around this time, and cannot be run. Some of the Ecclesias that also receive WCF funding have suggested prizes be replaced with relief parcels given to families, particularly in poorer regions.

End of years Family Fraternals (Bible Schools), which is held in Dec. and alternated with the youth conference will be challenging. This will be particularly beneficial as it will offer fellowship after a time of considerable isolation. Support from Australia looks more difficult with travel restrictions in place. Local speakers may need to step up and support this event

Your prayers and support are appreciated

Fraternal regards
Bro Peter
