ACBM COVID-19 NATIONAL DISASTER APPEAL

Since our email to Australian and New Zealand Ecclesias on 18 April, the ACBM has continued to carefully monitor the impact of COVID-19 in the areas of our service from India through Asia to the Pacific Islands.

Along with ongoing spiritual support, our dedicated Area Teams have provided significant financial support to help where many are out of work, and brothers and sisters do not have Government assistance or a medical system as we enjoy in Australia and New Zealand.

The ACBM National Committee met on 30 May, and reviewed the status of each country, their situation, the assistance provided to date, and what further support may be needed.

In light of this review, we now launch a National Disaster Appeal to raise AU$60,000 (NZ$64,200). We have taken into account the current fund balance, calls on the Disaster Fund for COVID-19 already for some mission areas, and likely future needs.

We ask please that all donations to brothers and sisters in mission areas be channelled through the ACBM. Each Area Team is closely in touch with its members and is focussed on relieving the situation in a fair and equitable way. Direct private contributions can compromise area relationships, and lead to jealousy, distrust, and ecclesial disharmony.

Donations for this National Disaster Appeal can be made by EFT to ACBM,

BSB:062-210
Account No:0090 3098
SWIFT/BIC:CTBAAU2S

Please include Disaster Fund in the note field.

Credit card donations (fees apply) can be made via the GIVE option on the ACBM website: acbm.org.au/give/covid-19-national-disaster-appeal

We continue to remember the family of God throughout the world in our prayers - praying most of all for the return of our Lord.

With love in our Lord,
Ken Pooley
ACBM National Secretary

“… as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Galatians 6:10
