‌
‌

VanHaroldApr2020B ‌

On the 6th of April Cyclone Harold struck Santo, the largest Island of Vanuatu. It had been sitting offshore for a few of days (after coming from the Solomon Islands) building up in strength. It first landed near the town of Luganville on last Monday morning as a category 5 cyclone. This is the second a cyclone of this magnitude has hit Vanuatu in five years, maintaining winds of above 200km/h. (2015 Cyclone Pam)

All of our brothers and sisters are safe and we can thank our God for watching over them throughout this serious weather event. Extensive damage has been caused to the homes of those who live on the Island of Santo and Malekula. Gardens have been damaged, electricity and running water are also no longer available and there is a lot of building debris remaining.
Obtaining clean water and food is now a priority.

The brothers and sisters in these parts of Vanuatu urgently need your support and prayers at this very difficult time. Please think of them and give generously to meet their needs. We are thankful that those in the Solomon Islands and Fiji have not experienced significant damage from this cyclone
