Vanuatu

Dear ,

2020 has posed its challenges and difficulties on the Vanuatu brothers and sisters like many others in the mission fields. Those in Vanuatu are resilient and have had to deal with a lot this year with a major cyclone earlier in the year as well. Thankfully one blessing is that Vanuatu has remained largely unaffected from dealing with Covid-19 in their country. One case has been reported and that person was in quarantine.

Even without widespread infections the affects of the virus throughout Australia and New Zealand have   also reduced the economy and the livelihood of some brothers and sisters in the Port Vila ecclesia, in particular. Tourists are not allowed into the country and many brothers and sisters rely on the tourism industry. The ACBM is assisting in this regard and the brothers and sisters are extremely thankful for the generous support of those in Australia. With all of this everyone is finding time to hold combined memorial meetings with each other.

Those on Santo who are spread throughout the island are meeting once a month to hold a combined memorial meeting, youth class and outing. This is a great opportunity for everyone to catch up and strengthen each other in God’s Word. This last time there was a special First Principles class for Elisabeth, a friend who is being tutored by bro Charles and Sis Raul. All of the brothers and sisters joined in the class to encourage her to continue learning and prepare for baptism. After the Memorial meeting there was a combined lunch and an outing to the famed Santo Blue Hole. Times like these are important and valuable and we thank our Heavenly Father for watching over
them throughout this year.

Don’t forget the ACBM Website

Keep up to date with all that is happening in the Mission fields and take the time to look through the reports on the home page. We might not be able to travel and visit but there is plenty happening, all demonstrating the love our brothers and sisters have for the beliefs we share and their resilience in coping with this new Covid world we live in. After years of teaching and support work we are seeing the fruits of these labours and now apart from some necessary financial aid we are blessed with such wonderful examples of faith in all that is being done. So keep up to date and please support this work with your donations so we can continue what we do in the Master’s service.
