Singapore
Singapore's borders have remained closed since February 2020 due to the covid-19 pandemic so we have had no overseas visitors in that time. Additionally, Singapore has been in varying stages of lock-down for this period. After an initial circuit breaker period when we were not able to meet in person, the restrictions were relaxed and we were able to hold in person memorial meetings once again. Unfortunately when the Delta variant hit Singapore in May we have had to return to virtual meetings and this remains the status quo right now. On a positive note, Singapore's vaccination program is proceeding at speed and we are praying for a relaxation of restrictions again soon. Fortunately all of our members are in good health and unaffected by the virus so far. The initiative we commenced at the start of 2021 (having a Victorian speaker exhort virtually) has been extremely welcome and helpful in supplementing our limited pool of speakers. We have further supplement this with MP4 exhortations from time to time. Over the weekend of 25-27th June Bro Geoff Watson (Orange, NSW) led our virtual study weekend to the theme "Awakening to the Spirit" and we are grateful to Bro Geoff for his ministrations. Another new initiative for 2021 is the holding of joint Memorial Meetings with the Kuala Lumpur Ecclesia. These are held virtually, twice each 6 months - one hosted by KL Ecclesia and one hosted by Singapore. We find this is a very productive way to fellowship with our nearest neighbours. We have a number of brothers facing employment challenges due to the ongoing economic situation so prayers would be welcomed in that regard.
