The Philippines

New Preaching Website

In December 2022 a new preaching website for the Philippines (angbiblia.com.ph) was launched. Bro Peter Jolly began building a website solely for online preaching in the Philippines in 2020. In late 2022, two experienced Filipino web developer brothers joined the team to complete the initial launch version of the website.

Smartphones are the main way that Filipinos access the internet. The website has therefore been built from the ground up, first for mobile smartphones, and secondly for desktop computers and laptops. The website has Filipino (Tagalog) as the main language and English as a secondary alternate language. Users can switch each page between Filipino and English to suit their language preference.

The website includes a “contact us” page and a map showing the location of ecclesias in the Philippines. Further development of the website will be ongoing as translated content becomes available.

Preaching in Isabela

The Isabela Ecclesia started in 2002. Isabela is a province in north-east Luzon, the main northern island of the Philippines. The members of the ecclesia mainly live in rural villages with farming as the main source of livelihood.

Though ecclesial members live in villages scattered throughout farming lands, this does provide opportunities to spread the gospel message more broadly. Isabela Ecclesia have utilised this opportunity well. Any member can ask some able brothers to come to their home to conduct a Bible study. People in the surrounding village are invited to the study. Members can also ask for a Bible study to be conducted in the home of a relative that lives in another village. There will be regular follow up Bible studies in the homes where interest is shown.

In some cases where brothers have gone to the home of a member’s relatives, the relatives have not been interested, but other people in that village have become interested and so new contacts are made. Once an initial interest in the Bible has been established, persistent follow up is important so with God’s blessing, these efforts may bring forth fruits. To facilitate regular travel to the various villages for preaching and instruction, the ecclesia has been supplied with a vehicle, which is also used to transport members to the Memorial Meetings, etc.
